Best Practice No. 1. A Workshop on Women Empowerment and Security



Goals:
• To highlight the need of women empowerment and security in the society.
• To create awareness about the empowerment and security of women in the society.

The Context:
Men and women need to be considered equally. However, we have been facing the problem of gender distinction since time immemorial in our country.
Women are the victims of patriarchy in India. They have been assigned a secondary and inferior role in our society.
Actually, women are born with certain virtues such as silence, patience, tolerance and sacrifice.
They are emotionally stronger than their male counterparts. They need to be made aware of their inner strength and virtues so that they move on with their lives with courage,
confidence and determination. The programme on women empowerment is a move towards making Indian women strong and confident.

Evidence of Success:
A Workshop on Women Empowerment and Security has the following outcome:
• Creating awareness on Women Empowerment and Security among the girl students.
• Making college students aware of their rights, strengths and power.
• 250 girl students actively participated in the workshop.




Best practice No. 2: A Workshop on Awareness of Cyber Security.



Goals:
• To highlight the need of awareness on cyber security among the students.
• To discuss the reasons of probable causes leading to cyber crime.

The Context:
Today is the world of science and technology. We have been making a maximum use of mobiles, internet in the form of Whatsapp, Facebook, Twitter and many more things.
Banking transaction too are done online. As a result of extensive use of these media, various mal-practices are happening and we are becoming the victims of cyber crimes.
We need to have some control over the unlimited use of these media. We are unaware of the nature of online crimes.
The workshop intends to make the students conscious of various cyber crimes.

Evidence of Success:
A Workshop on Awareness of Cyber Security has the following outcome:
• Making the students use this media with care and caution.
• Making them aware of the nature of cyber crimes.
• 305 students actively participated in the workshop.
